SINGAPORE -- Following the launch of the Samsung HD Interactive set-top box in April, StarHub TV customers are now able to enjoy recording capabilities with the boxes.

They can do so by connecting a type-approved external hard-disk drive to their Samsung HD Interactive set-top box, and subscribing to the Smart TV Value Added Service (VAS). The Smart TV VAS, which can be subscribed via Instant Buy on TV, is available at a monthly subscription of $4.28 (with GST).

The type-approved external hard-disk drives by Western Digital include: - My Passport AV 320GB (sold exclusively at StarHub Shops) - My Passport Ultra 500GB / 1TB (available island-wide at all major IT retailers)

With this new recording function enabled on the Samsung HD Interactive set-top box via My Passport AV/ Ultra, customers can enjoy recording of up to two programmes concurrently. One subscription to the Smart TV VAS, will also allow customers to view their recordings on all Samsung HDi set-top boxes within the same household.
