DUBLIN -- Silicon & Software Systems (S3) together with partners ADI Engineering and Flextronics Software Systems (FSS) today announced the availability of an integrated, triple-play IP DSLAM platform for the Intel® IXP2350 network processor. The platform is an integrated dataplane, control plane and hardware solution built using components from the partner companies: S3's S3AxS-DSLAM™, Flextronics' ISS and ADI Engineering's Roadrunner HW platform.

For equipment vendors delivering next generation triple-play systems to service providers, the integrated IP DSLAM platform brings faster time-to-revenue, lower development costs, lower risk development and lower bill-of-materials costs thus yielding lower total cost of ownership and increased ROI for service providers. For OEMs that require specific features or the integration of their own intellectual property, a full technology transfer and deployment service can be provided by the partner companies.

Because the IP DSLAM platform is inherently flexible, it can accommodate a broad range of requirements from "black box" to custom systems. According to Steve Yates, President and CTO of ADI Engineering, "Many customers will find that the IP DSLAM platform is a close fit for their requirements saving the time and effort needed to develop and test IP DSLAM systems". This view is shared by Jim O’Donoghue, General Manager of Network Infrastructure at S3, "Our partner program for the IP DSLAM platform is designed to bring together the best products and expertise available, giving our customers maximum value, maximum differentiation and fastest time-to-market."
