SINGAPORE -- Pixelmetrix, the global expert in Preventive Monitoring for digital television networks, has just launched the Pixelmetrix DVStor-IP, a cost-effective hard disk-based system that allows non-stop simultaneous recording of multiple channels of transmitted IP video.

“DVStor-IP allows broadcasters who are using Internet Protocol Television to verify that a specific transmission actually happened at a given time,” said Danny Wilson, President and CEO of Pixelmetrix. “It’s not just necessary because of legal compliance. It’s also useful for resolving disputes because there is a record of the transmission to check against.”

The video is recorded by specifying the source IP address and destination IP address of the transmitted video. A continuous archive of recorded video is created on a "First In, First Out" (FIFO) basis. This means that out-of-date material is removed to allow for fresh recordings. However, when necessary, selected segments can also be locked to prevent it from being removed or overwritten.

The recorded IP video can be subsequently played back to any remote machine with a video player.

DVStor-IP comes in both 1U and 4U configuration, with disk storage capacity ranging from 100GB to 2TB. Depending on usage, this could represent anywhere from a few hours to a month of IP video storage.
