TORONTO -- SCTE Canadian Summit 2011 -- The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) took its act north of the border this week to give the cable crew there a deeper dive into tech trends that are affecting MSOs around the globe.

Among the big takeaways: Cable's keen on the cloud, MSOs and vendors may have to find common ground on two emerging next-generation architecture standards, and the industry is viewing its migration to IP video as a path toward TV Everywhere nirvana.

Oh, and it's still a bit brisk in Toronto this time of year, but the coffee is always hot at Tim Hortons.
