Photos: Cable Tchotchkes in Chicago

CHICAGO -- The Cable Show -- This show is known for the liveliest show floor of any on the telecom technology circuit thanks largely to the cable programmers. It's the one time a year when pens, coffee mugs and those environmentally friendly tote bags give way to more exotic giveaways. Here's what folks were lining up for during the early afternoon hours of Tuesday and Wednesday.

I suspect the Cubs' lawyers keep Zambrano on a very short leash. The team has enough finacial problems as it is.

Given the Cubs' recent injury woes, the whole team may be restricted from any activity deemed remotely dangerous.

Our second baseman, Darwin Barney, had an appearance scheduled near me - not at The Cable Show -- but he's now taking his obligatory turn on the DL.

Getting Weeks & Fielder - that's pretty cool. But yes, I don't know how chatty they'd be while signing autographs (gee, what a change of pace for them) and having dropped two to the Cubs (which never puts anyone in a good mood).

Kinda surprised no one got any Cubs for their booth -- maybe the team's schedule didn't permit it?  They could hire Carlos Zambrano, and let people take pictures of him destroying Gatorade coolers and bashing lockers.
