LARGO, Fla. -- Paradyne Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:PDYN), a leading provider of broadband voice, data, and video network access solutions, announced today the launch of the GranDSLAM(R) 8820 Tsunami Platform, enabling service providers to expand their service offerings on a next generation platform.

The GranDSLAM 8820 Tsunami is a standards-based, carrier class, scalable, high-capacity multiservice DSLAM platform supporting the widest range of DSL technologies in the industry, including ADSL (DMT and G.Lite), ADSL2, ADSL+,ADSL2+, ReachDSL, SHDSL, TDM SHDSL and TDM SDSL. Paradyne's continued investment in the GranDSLAM product family has resulted in leading edge technological advancements in the DSL market.

The GranDSLAM 8820's multiservices capability allows service providers to economically deliver high-speed broadband services to all subscribers - whether they are located in the heart of a large metropolitan city, or at a remote, hard to reach location, challenged with interference issues. In addition, the GranDSLAM 8820 provides investment protection by supporting a migration to IP services via Ethernet network interfaces. This migration is easily accomplished with only an uplink change, eliminating the need for costly forklift upgrades.

"The GranDSLAM 8820 Tsunami platform provides us with a low cost, high performance solution for delivery of bandwidth intensive applications," stated Kris Whitman, Central Office Supervisor, Guadalupe Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. "Paradyne's long history and leadership in the DSL market has quickly made them our vendor of choice."
