STOCKHOLM -- PacketFront, the world leader in open access FTTH technology and next generation broadband aggregation, has launched BECS 3, the world’s most advanced triple play control and provisioning system, at the Broadband World Forum 2005 in Madrid.

Deployed in conjunction with PacketFront’s ASR broadband routers, BECS 3 represents the industry’s only purpose-built and fully automated control and provisioning platform for large-scale carriers looking to deliver triple play services to a mass market.

BECS 3 provides the essential functionalities for control and provisioning of advanced services such as carrier-class TV over IP, and enables unprecedented capacity and network scalability. The system’s unique automation features accelerate network and service deployment and provide operators with considerable reductions in OPEX costs.

BECS 3’s open and modular architecture seamlessly integrates with any legacy OSS over an all-IP infrastructure. Furthermore, in combination with ASR 10000, BECS 3 gives network operators the flexibility to reach end users via all types of access technologies (DSL, Wireless, Ethernet over Coax, broadband over power lines) with one single cost-effective solution. It is also specifically tailored to meet the demands of the emerging open access broadband model, allowing multiple service providers to deliver services over the same physical infrastructure - simultaneously.

Martin Thunman, CEO of PacketFront, said “PacketFront has been a pioneer of new broadband technologies since its inception, and now we believe that BECS 3 will provide carriers with the missing link they’ve been looking for in terms of both scalable, flexible and cost-efficient deployment and operation of broadband networks. While BECS 3 is an exceptionally sophisticated system, operators will be attracted by the simplicity it brings to service deployment and the huge potential reductions in OPEX costs.”
