Cisco Founder Does DWDM

4:15 PM -- I spy with my little eye...

XKL, a new systems company from Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) founder Len Bosack. The company's big claim is to bring "economy and simplicity to the operation of DWDM systems." Another claim: They've already got systems deployed. Somewhere. They're hosting a NANOG (North American Network Operators Group) meeting, well, now. We've learned their equipment is providing multiple 10-Gigabit Ethernet connections for that conference.

Now don't get confused... Bosack has founded a company called XKL before. In 1991, he started XKL Systems after leaving Cisco. The company was terminated, according to public filings, back in 1993. But in 1997, XKL, LLC appeared and, we think, that's the XKL that's still around today.

And, despite all this potential buzzworthiness, they ain't talking to media types. Yet. Maybe late summer, or so we hear.
