Optical Solutions and IdeaOne Telecom bring fiber optic connections to Fargo, N.D. High-speed Internet, yah?

MINNEAPOLIS -- Optical Solutions Inc., the market leader in PON-based solutions for the last mile, today announced that Fargo-based IdeaOne Telecom will overbuild sections of the city's business district with Optical Solutions' FiberPath Fiber-to-Main-Street solution. The deployment will feature Optical Solutions' FiberPoint 440, which is specifically engineered for converged delivery of voice, data and video to businesses and multiple dwelling units. IdeaOne Telecom serves customers in Fargo, N.D., West Fargo, N.D., and Moorhead, Minn., population 172,000. The company will compete with the incumbent and competitive telephone and Internet providers for broadband services. "By installing a fiber network, we can give customers the ultimate in state-of-the-art broadband services, and we gain an incredible competitive advantage over providers using traditional wiring with little bandwidth capacity," said Bob Johnson, General Manager at IdeaOne. IdeaOne will begin construction of the FiberPath network in July. Once in place, customers will be able to receive multiple phone lines, high-speed data and multiple video options such as video conferencing, streaming IP video and more. Optical Solutions Inc.
