STOCKHOLM -- Net Insight (STO:NETI B) has been awarded a major contract for the Danish Digital Terrestrial TV network. The order value is above SEK 10 million. The network will be built with Net Insight's Nimbra platform and will reach all households in Denmark. The equipment will be delivered during the second quarter of 2005.

With Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT), digital TV signals are transmitted from terrestrial masts to digital TV receivers in the households. Among the benefits are lower operational costs, a higher picture quality and the possibility to transmit up to four times more TV channels on the same frequency range. The market for DTT is growing rapidly and more than 50 countries are considering to switch from analogue terrestrial TV to Digital Terrestrial TV.

"We have gone through an extensive competitive bidding process and chosen Net Insight's solution since it combines the most efficient technical solution for Digital Terrestrial TV and Broadcast Contribution with an attractive price and most competitive operational costs," said Finn Sondergaard Pedersen, CEO at Broadcast Service Danmark.

Net Insight's Nimbra platform is used to bring the TV signals from national and regional broadcasters, via optical fiber and microwave links, to the transmitter masts located all over Denmark. Net Insight's Nimbra platform can transport any combination of voice, video and data with the highest utilization of the network capacity. TV signals can be multicast in parallel with data and voice services with full broadcast quality and protection.

Broadcast Service Danmark (BSD) is responsible for the analog and digital distribution of TV and radio in Denmark. BSD is a wholly owned subsidiary of the two Danish public service broadcasters DR and TV 2/DANMARK. For this contract BSD is acting on behalf of DR and TV 2/DANMARK.

"This is our third order for a Digital Terrestrial TV network in a short period of time. It confirms that we have a very strong solution at a time when many countries are implementing Digital Terrestrial TV," said Tomas Duffy, CEO at Net Insight.
