Moto Wins Mountain Deal

HORSHAM, Pa., and PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Broadband Communications Sector and Bresnan Communications today announced plans to work together to upgrade Bresnan's Mountain Region cable systems.

Motorola will provide its complete line of optics and RF products, along with project management support, to enable Bresnan to meet its aggressivetwo- year timetable. Using Motorola's technology, engineering and project management expertise, Bresnan plans to upgrade approximately 3,000 miles of infrastructure throughout its cable systems in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Upon completion, Bresnan expects to offer advanced services such as high-speed Internet access to more than 90 percent of its customers.

The flexible architecture of Bresnan's upgraded network is being designed to support anticipated rising customer demand for these broadband services. Motorola was chosen as the primary technology provider on the project because the company offers a complete and proven solution and has demonstrated long- term commitment to delivering innovation in the cable industry.

Motorola will supply the following technology for the upgrade: the Motorola Omnistar(R) GX2 series high-density optical platform, SG series optical nodes, Starline(R) series RF amplifiers equipped with Motorola'snext- generation, high-performance, enhanced Gallium Arsenide hybrids, and taps and passive devices.
