Moto Wins Mountain Deal
HORSHAM, Pa., and PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Broadband Communications Sector and Bresnan Communications today announced plans to work together to upgrade Bresnan's Mountain Region cable systems.
Motorola will provide its complete line of optics and RF products, along with project management support, to enable Bresnan to meet its aggressive two- year timetable. Using Motorola's technology, engineering and project management expertise, Bresnan plans to upgrade approximately 3,000 miles of infrastructure throughout its cable systems in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Upon completion, Bresnan expects to offer advanced services such as high-speed Internet access to more than 90 percent of its customers.

Motorola will supply the following technology for the upgrade: the Motorola Omnistar(R) GX2 series high-density optical platform, SG series optical nodes, Starline(R) series RF amplifiers equipped with Motorola's next- generation, high-performance, enhanced Gallium Arsenide hybrids, and taps and passive devices.
"We selected Motorola as our key provider for this upgrade because of their end-to-end leadership in technology, engineering and project support. Motorola's experience and focused approach will help us meet our aggressive timetable for rolling out advanced services to our customers," said Gary McIntosh, Bresnan's Senior Vice President of Engineering.
