SAN DIEGO -- PacketLight Networks and Jedai Broadband Networks today announced the successful completion of interoperability testing of Jedai's FrontRunner(TM) 3200 (FR-3200) access switch router and PacketLight's PL-16000 integrated optical transport system. The efficient access solution of Jedai aggregates T1 and Ethernet streams, and the PL-16000 provides an integrated metro solution that includes TDM, data and wavelength over DWDM. When combined, the result is a dramatic improvement in the speed of end-to-end provisioning of services over DWDM wavelengths, enabling cable operators to build a total transport network solution delivering end-to-end voice and data services -- from access to metro. The two products were rigorously tested together at Jedai's laboratories, with results showing that the FR-3200's Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) access traffic can be aggregated and transported by PL-16000. Also demonstrated successfully was interface compatibility, network synchronization for T1 traffic in a FR-3200/PL-16000 network, and data and T1 performance via the PL-16000's SONET/DWDM and GbE connections. "We are pleased with the results of our interoperability testing with PacketLight," said Keith Kreager, vice president of Product Planning and Professional Services, Jedai. "The successful tests prove that our architecture fills a currently existing gap and can interoperate effectively with peer products." PacketLight Networks Jedai Broadband Networks Inc.
