Teledata Networks supplies its BroadAccess muliiservice access platform to Ghana Telecom

AMSTERDAM -- Teledata Networks, a leading provider of wireline access products and Next Generation Network (NGN) solutions for telecom operators and service providers worldwide, completed the first shipments of BroadAccess Integrated Multiservice Access Platforms(IMAPs) to Ghana Telecom, in the framework of a $8M agreement.

Teledata Networks and its partner, Toplinks, succeeded in winning the tender, in which eight major European and Chinese suppliers participated.The contract, signed in March 2004, is a frame agreement covering the supply of indoor and outdoor installations for provisioning of traditional and advanced services over optical transmission.

"Our contract with Ghana Telecom is the beginning of a promising journey,"said Amnon Unger, CEO, Teledata Networks. "We look forward to investing in this customer and broadening our well-established installed base in Africa ".

"BroadAccess' cost-effectiveness, high quality, and quick response times were main factors in our selection of this product," said Torbjorn O. H.Gjerdrum, Planning Program Director, Ghana Telecom. "Now that the BroadAccess systems are already installed in Ghana, we are confident that we made the right choice."
