SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Expanding on its Ethernet Everywhere strategy(TM), Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR - news) today unveiled its plan for extending its metro networks strategy to include first mile access over Ethernet and IP. Incorporating technology from recently acquired Optranet, Extreme Networks will deliver networking solutions that allow metro service providers to use Ethernet in the first mile over VDSL. The Company will also provide a solution for Ethernet on T-1 and DS-3 connections allowing for high performance Ethernet Layer 3 switching and IP services on legacy networks. With its new solutions, Extreme Networks once again leads in simplifying and reducing the cost for high-speed broadband services in the metro network.
