Agreement establishes broadband connectivity in 18 major metro markets

HOUSTON -- Dynegy Inc. (NYSE:DYN - news) todayannounced that its subsidiary, Dynegy Global Communications, has enteredinto a network services agreement with Telseon, Inc. to develop an 18 cityall-optical network capable of producing significant, scalable,high-bandwidth solutions between multiple points-of-presence (`POP') in tier1 metro markets. Once deployed, the network provides Dynegy with access toapproximately 85 POPs in select metro areas.Top U.S. markets scheduled for immediate deployment include New York, LosAngeles, Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas,Atlanta, Denver, Seattle, and Miami. Additional metro networks are scheduledfor completion by the fall of 2001. The agreement provides for expansioninto additional metro areas if demand warrants.
