Cisco Interviews... Me?!

Phil Harvey
7/8/2010

4:25 PM -- Besides John Chambers himself, Zoya Fallah is perhaps the easiest person to recognize when you're roaming Cisco's sprawling Tasman Drive campus in San Jose, Calif. And, really, that's all I need to say about the power of YouTube, blogs, and other social media.

In this two-part interview, Zoya picks my tired brain on several media topics, including the all-important question: "If you were a piece of networking equipment, which one would you be?"

Wow. Can I have ended that interview by being any more of a bummer? Congrats to Zoya for knowing when too much Phil is just enough.

So, these videos played nicely on my iPad. Was that because of Youtube, or is LightReading "iPad-ready"?

That video was hosted on YouTube. Other LR vids are kept on Brightcove, which now has an HTML5 player and should work as well.

They will. At some point soon. I'll check out why and when and will reply back. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. And giving me a work reason to expense an iPad.

Tell me, have you any trouble viewing our videos on a new BMW coupe by any chance? Hmmm?

They have a full blown mock living room set up for product demos and such. It's the kind of room you could never give a journalist because they'd actually use the room as though they were at home.

Next thing you know you'd be bringing a client by and there would be some knuckleheaded LR editor standing at the sink, in a robe and slippers, brushing his teeth.
