STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ: CCBL), the cable industry's leading supplier of 1GHz access equipment, is launching its latest 1GHz product, the Opti Max3100 Segmentable Node. The newest addition to C-COR's 1GHz line of hybrid fiber coax (HFC) products enables cable operators to increase bandwidth capacity on existing infrastructure for revenue-generating voice, video and data services and the migration to all-digital. The product is debuting at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo, June 20- 23, in Denver, Colo in C-COR's booth (#980).

"Expanding capacity on the cable network doesn't have to mean big investment dollars and long deployment times associated with laying additional fiber," said Bill Dawson, vice president, Access Strategy, C-COR. "This state of the art node, along with our CWDM solutions and entire line of access products, gives operators a cost-effective approach that protects their network investment and economically delivers today's services while supporting future capacity requirements."

The Opti Max3100 1GHz 2x2 Segmentable Node is the next generation of C-COR's proven and reliable Opti Max3000 Node. The product extends bandwidth to 1GHz and expands network capacity with full 2x2 forward and return path segmentation capability across a single fiber. The Opti Max3100's robust capabilities include: - Scalable capabilities for up to twice the capacity of initial deployment with 1x4 and 2x2, forward and return segmentation;
- Fiber preserving upstream capabilities using CWDM return transmitters;
- Extended bandwidth from 870MHz to 1GHz to increase forward capacity for HDTV, allowing a 40% increase over current HDTV channels in a given line up;
- Status reporting and ingress management using standards-based and proprietary element management options; and
- Optical path redundancy for telephony and data applications.

C-COR's latest advance in bandwidth expansion technology complements C-COR's existing line of integrated 1GHz access products that include the industry's first fully segmentable 1GHz node (the Opti Max4100), the 1GHz Extended Linearity Forward Transmitter, and the Flex Max(tm) 1GHz amplifiers. The Opti Max3100 expands network capacity, allowing operators to support and deliver next generation revenue-generating applications and additional VOD, high-speed data and voice services at a fraction of the cost to install additional fiber.
