AURORA, Ill. -- Westell Technologies, Inc., (NASDQ:WSTL), an international systems developer and manufacturer of high-speed broadband/DSL and VoIP technology access products today announced that British Telecom Global Services has selected the Westell ProLine(TM) dual connect router as the DSL customer premises product for enterprise customers requiring the highest level of fault tolerance. Westell and BT engineers have collaborated to develop an optimized version of Westell's standard DSL modem that meets the exacting broadband requirements for BT Global Services' enterprise customers. Westell's remotely manageable broadband routers, with their fault tolerant operation and auto re-routing features, will assist BT in providing a flexible and resilient DSL network offering. The routers work by ensuring that there are two separate profiles available to reach the required services. This contrasts with other routers, limited to one user profile, which could lock customers out of their configured services if that one connection cannot be established. This gives BT the ability to offer customers enhanced service availability, in conjunction with Service Level Agreements.

Bill Holloway, BT Line of Business Manager stated, "Many of our customers use broadband technology to link to business critical environments, including branch offices and even customer-operated devices such as cash machines. Westell has demonstrated a willingness to develop their products to meet specific BT requirements, enabling BT to offer its customers broadband solutions that provide greater benefit and resilience."
