BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Axerra Networks, a leading developer of Multiservice over Packet (MSoP) solutions, today announced the availability of the AXN1 Multiservice Access Device. The AXN1 is the first and only multiservice access device that enables cable MSOs, mobile/wireless operators, and service providers with metro Ethernet or IP access networks to provide a truly comprehensive set of voice and data services over packet networks. These service providers can now cost-effectively offer emerging Ethernet services plus legacy services such as T1/E1 private line, traditional PBX voice, and frame relay to small- and medium-sized businesses, in addition to the Internet access they may already offer.

The AXN1 is a highly flexible, compact, purpose-built multiservice access device that enables extensive Ethernet capabilities such as Transparent LAN Service and Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), T1/E1 Circuit Emulation Service over Packet (CESoP) and dynamic bandwidth CES (DB-CESoP) for voice services, and Frame Relay over Packet (FRoP) for legacy data applications. Supporting a variety of QoS and policing mechanisms, and enabling business-quality service level agreements (SLAs), the AXN1 is available in several configuration options with both 10/100 BaseT and 100 Base Tx/Fx Ethernet interfaces, as well as the T1, E1, V.35, RS-530, and X.21 ports that seamlessly integrate with all existing customer premise devices, requiring no change-out of enterprise equipment.

"With the AXN1, cable MSOs can significantly and cost-effectively expand their data and voice offerings to small- and medium-sized businesses, as well as branch offices, thereby increasing revenue opportunities," said Ronen Ostri, director of product management at Axerra Networks. "At the same time, incumbent carriers now have a simple, scalable, non-disruptive migration path to packet-based networks that enables new Ethernet services, but with no loss of legacy service revenues."
