SUWANEE, Ga. -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) today announced the appointment of sales and engineering veteran Andrew Bigbee as Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales. Bigbee will be based in Shanghai, which represents the opening of the sixth, and strategically significant, ARRIS Asian sales office. Other ARRIS sales offices in the region are in Tokyo, Melbourne, Seoul, Hong Kong and Beijing. Bigbee will report to Senior VP Asia Sales George Fletcher.

Bigbee joins ARRIS from Terayon's Asia Pacific Group where he served as VP of Sales and GM of Operations, Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, he worked as a Regional Sales Manager for Pioneer New Media Technologies, and in engineering positions for TCI Cablevision of Houston and Time Warner Cable of New York City. He is a long-time member of the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, Bigbee is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

"As ARRIS expands its footprint in the critically important Asia Pacific region, the need for experienced sales and engineering personnel becomes more pressing," said SVP, Asia Sales George Fletcher. "Andrew's long-standing relationships in the region will greatly enhance our ongoing sales efforts and position ARRIS well in the burgeoning Chinese marketplace."
