MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) today announced the new RF Worx® SignalOn Series(TM) platform for video-on-demand, interactive video, high-speed data and IP telephony applications in multiple system operator (MSO) networks. The RF Worx SignalOn Series provides cable operators with a carrier-class solution for handling signal management challenges in headends and hubs. ADC will demonstrate the RF Worx SignalOn Series platform in its booth #1553 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia, May 12-14.

The RF Worx SignalOn Series chassis accommodates up to 20 splitter/combiner modules featuring patented hitless attenuation technology that eliminates signal disruption during maintenance practices. Plain splitter/combiner modules are also available. The platform's technical specifications for insertion loss, port-to-port isolation, and frequency response are among the industry's best.

"ADC's RF Worx SignalOn Series platform's patented technology and best-in-class technical specifications assure high network availability during reconfiguration and maintenance," said Pat O'Brien, president of Connectivity Business Unit for ADC. "As MSOs strive to deliver carrier-class network performance, finely-tuned yet flexible network infrastructure is critical to success."

Backed by a 10-year warranty, the robust system exceeds Network Equipment Building Standards (NEBS) requirements for grounding and bonding. Highly-isolated submodules prevent crosstalk and a patent-pending module faceplate design virtually eliminates electromagnetic interference.

ADC's RF Worx SignalOn Series systems with plain splitter/combiner modules are now available for shipment. Splitter/combiner modules featuring hitless attenuation technology will become commercially available in July 2003.
