As part of the announcement, Celeno’s Wi-Fi chips will power ZTE’s home gateway products. Celeno’s chips will also be leveraged to power after-market accessories such as video bridges and USB dongles that will allow service providers to Wi-Fi-enable legacy set-top boxes and gateways.

“With Celeno’s field-proven Wi-Fi technology and Wi-Fi chip portfolio, we will be able to offer our telco customers top performance at the right cost levels,” said Mr. Xu Ziyang, CTO of ZTE Europe & North America. “Our customers are looking for video-grade Wi-Fi to better serve subscribers’ hunger for video and multimedia consumption in the home on various portable devices and wireless displays.”
