BURNABY, BC -- BroadSoft®, the leading provider of hosted communications platforms, and Xten Networks, a leading provider of award-winning, high-quality SIP softphones and toolkits for IP Telephony networks, today announced completion of interoperability testing of Xten's SIP softphones against BroadSoft's BroadWorks® hosted communication platform. Xten's SIP Softphones may now be offered as a component of BroadSoft's Voice- over-IP (VoIP) solution.

Xten's softphones add a cost-effective, high-quality "software-only" IP phone to the BroadWorks Hosted PBX/IP Centrex solution that can be deployed rapidly as either the end user's primary IP Phone or supplementary IP Phone from their Windows, Mac OS X, LindowsOS personal computers and personal digital assistants.

"We are pleased to announce BroadWorks' interoperability with Xten Networks' SIP softphones," said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing at Broadsoft. "The softphones provide a compelling, cost-effective alternative to an IP phone or analog adapter, improving the business case of deploying hosted voice services. Additionally, the softphones offer strong complementary capabilities to mobile and tele-workers with existing IP phones to be able to access their advanced services no matter where they are from the convenience of their PC."

"Xten expands carriers' choices for end-user terminals by adding this softphone to BroadSoft's hosted PBX and IP Centrex applications." said Erik Lagerway, co-founder and president of Xten Networks, Inc. "There are many large carriers looking for a robust, feature-rich softphone to be used with the BroadSoft offering. Now these providers have an award-winning softphone that is compliant with the BroadSoft solution."
