XCome Technology launches the Java edition of Windows Live Messenger for mobile on Chunghwa Telecom's network

TAIPEI -- XCome Technology, a mobile services provider and global technology partner of Microsoft Taiwan announced today the launch of the Java edition of Windows Live™ Messenger for mobile on Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s number one mobile operator. This service is distinctive from other mobile IM offerings in that it spans handsets (from low-end to high end) and crosses platforms enabling mobile to mobile as well as mobile to PC communications. Additionally, Chunghwa Telecom is offering a promotional flat-rate monthly fee of less than $3 USD/month. This price scheme alleviates per IM message charging and will promote usage of the service, which is a mobile IM industry first in the Taiwan market.

In XCome’s partnership with Microsoft Taiwan to launch the Java edition of the Windows Live™ Messenger for mobile service to mobile carriers such as Chunghwa Telecom, users will be automatically upgraded to the latest edition of the cell-phone software which is as seamless as the PC software experience.

Supporting well-received features such as offering 65 of the most popular emoticons, XCome will continue to provide innovative features. In the next year, Windows Live™ Messenger for mobile will support features such as file transfer, Hotmail, and blogs.
