SAN DIEGO, Calif. and SPOKANE, Wash. -- Following rigorous testing, PacketLight Networks' PL-16000 integrated optical transport system has been verified interoperable with the World Wide Packets LE-211 access concentrator, the two companies announced today. Together, the PL-16000 and LE-211 provide the Ethernet to the Subscriber market with metro functionality that enables multiplexing of multiple services and DWDM. With the LE-211's virtual local area network (VLAN) and multicast capability and the PL-16000's DWDM/SONET and VLAN based GbE aggregation and transport, a total solution is offered for TDM data and video services. Conducted at PacketLight's laboratories, the testing successfully validated the optics, physical and logical connectivity, and overall interoperability of the PL-16000 with the LE-211. Test categories included multicasting GbE transport performance, and Layer 2 VLAN and DWDM functionality. PacketLight Networks World Wide Packets Inc.
