Wisair to demonstrate ultra wideband applications at CES

CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Leading brand name companies will be using Wisair Ultra Wideband (UWB) chipset and reference design technology to demonstrate both commercial and concept products at 2007 International CES next week. These demos include:

  • The Belkin Cable-Free hub, available in the consumer market today, which allows laptop and PC users to wirelessly access USB devices will be demonstrated by Wisair. (South Hall 4, #35163)

  • Gefen will demonstrate its four-port USB extender hub. (South Hall 1, #22031)

  • IOGEAR will be demonstrating its wireless UWB hub, allowing laptop and PC users to wirelessly access USB devices. (booth #31755)

  • MiTAC will be demonstrating a wireless USB hub which will allow users to place USB devices such as a printers or external disk drives anywhere in the room while receiving wireless connectivity to any notebook or PC equipped with a Wireless USB dongle. (North Hall #6330, Hilton #1530 and #1630)

  • Samsung DCS will be demonstrating a 1394 over Coax via UWB within the HANA (http://www.hanaalliance.org/) booth. The demonstration, showing multiple high definition (HD) streams, leverages the existing home coax cables for networks of HD consumer electronic devices such as HDTVs, DVD players and recorders, set-top boxes and others.

  • silex will be demonstrating its NetSign that allows users to transfer data from a computer to multiple high definition information displays using UWB wireless technology. (South Hall 4, #35163)

  • Western Digital will be demonstrating an external hard disk communicating wirelessly with a PC.

  • The Y-E Data Ultra Wideband hub that was made available to the Japanese consumer market in October will be demonstrated by Wisair. (South Hall 4, #35163)
