LONDON -- Industria, the leading broadband TV solutions provider and systems integrator, today announced that Zignal Cloud, a new service offering within the IPTV industry, is integrated with Widevine® Technologies’ industry leading content security solution. This latest addition to the Zignal Entertainment Delivery Platform enables service providers to securely deliver a seamless digital television viewing experience on set top boxes, PCs and mobile devices all running on the same server.
Built on a robust architecture, Zignal enables consumers to experience rich media services on the operator platform of choice. Tightly integrating with Widevine’s DRM further offers a compelling, end-to-end entertainment and content solution. Widevine first deployed the PC client to secure content delivered on a wide range of PC devices in 2000 and has successfully secured content for IP video on set top boxes, PCs and portable devices.
Widevine’s multiplatform, multiformat DRM secures delivery, storage and play-back of content on a wide range of consumer platforms. An additional level of post-decryption digital copy protection further monitors, detects and responds to the hundreds of screen scraping and recording utilities available on the Internet today. Many of these utilities can record content from a consumer device and store it as a downloadable file on the Internet. Increasingly, content owners are demanding this level of protection to prevent widespread piracy.
Thorsteinn Yngvi Gudmundsson Vice President of Product Development, Industria commented: “Industria is pleased to continue our innovative expansion of the Zignal Cloud platform and anticipate customer demands for delivery to any of the three screens--PC, TV or mobile handsets. We are working with the most innovative solution providers in the IPTV industry to further strengthen this offering. With Widevine’s content security, we are ensuring that copyrights and pay media revenue streams are protected on multiple screens.”
