PLANO, Texas -- GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that WaveCrest Group Enterprises Limited, a global communications service provider of wholesale and retail telephony services, has transitioned the core of its network from TDM to IP with a network-wide deployment of GENBAND S3 Session Border Controllers (SBCs) with MSX™ (Multi-Protocol Session Exchange) intelligent routing features.
The end-to-end system is managed by GENBAND’s GenView™ RSM Element Management System, which integrates a web services API interface allowing WaveCrest to configure, update routes and provision from its existing back office systems. WaveCrest’s deployment of GENBAND’s VoIP solution has enabled the company to significantly reduce its operating expenses.
“GENBAND’s border control solution has helped us transition to a high performance, all-IP core, which not only greatly reduces WaveCrest’s CAPEX and OPEX for legacy TDM equipment, but also enables us to leverage new services and expand our interconnect base,” said Rhys Williams, Chief Technology Officer for WaveCrest. “Our new GENBAND platform will carry 300 million minutes per month, growing to 400 million by December. With a distributed core IP architecture, we have full resilience and flexibility to deploy geographically wherever it is needed.”
