SINGAPORE -- VPI Virtual Photonics, the developer of professional tools and productivity systems for next generation products and networks, today announced that it has opened its new Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. VPI's Asia Pacific headquarters will provide immediate support for regional customers including Furukawa, Hitachi, Huawei Technologies, Nanyang Technological University, NTT, Deutsche Telekom, MCI Worldcom and SingTel. The Singapore office will closely cooperate with the worldwide headquarters in Holmdel, New Jersey. VPI's technology addresses the urgent need to deliver broadband, data and voice services and products in a highly complex and competitive environment. VPI vice president of international sales, Horst Etzkorn said, "The launch of the Asia Pacific headquarters signifies the importance of photonics and deregulation in the region's telecommunications industry.
