Vivato promotes Siavash Alamouti to CTO, Dave Roth to VP engineering, and Mark Tyre to North American sales VP; hires Bradley Kolb as VP of operations

SAN FRANCISCO -- Vivato(TM), a wireless infrastructure systems company, today announced four new appointments to its executive management team, positioning the company for continued growth in the wireless infrastructure technology market. Siavash Alamouti, a renowned expert in wireless communication technology, has been promoted to chief technology officer; Bradley Kolb joins Vivato as vice president of operations; Dave Roth was advanced to vice president of engineering; and Mark Tyre has been elevated to vice president for North American sales.

Siavash Alamouti, Vivato's newly appointed chief technology officer (CTO), was previously a senior scientist at AT&T Wireless and is an internationally recognized expert in smart antenna technology. Alamouti is best known as the inventor of the Alamouti Code, the first multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) code that also has been adopted for other wireless standards, including 3G wireless and 802.16 (WiMax). Alamouti's findings have been published in more than 100 publications and technical reports, and he has received more than ten patents for his innovations in wireless communications. As CTO, he will set technical direction and lead the Vivato's advanced development team, which is comprised of well-known wireless and Wi-Fi experts. Alamouti will continue developing cutting-edge technology that takes advantage of evolving standards while maintaining the hallmark of Vivato's product line -- extended wireless range and coverage.

Bradley Kolb, previously vice president of operations at Proxim Inc., will oversee Vivato's manufacturing operations and information technology services. At Proxim, Kolb reduced production costs and increased product yields by streamlining supply chain processes and developing innovative production, logistics and warehousing strategies. With more than 20 years of experience, Kolb will create and implement operational processes that will be instrumental as Vivato delivers its next-generation products.

Dave Roth has been appointed vice president of engineering to coordinate hardware, software and systems development. In this role, Roth will build upon his more than 20 years of experience in leading development teams at Allegro Networks, Alcatel, NexGen, VLSI Technology and Advanced Micro Devices.

Mark Tyre joined the company as director of sales in 2002 and has built Vivato's current sales and channel organization. As vice president of North American sales, Tyre leads a team with extensive sales and engineering experience in the wireless market, ensuring Vivato's customers receive the best care and value. Tyre is a wireless industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience at companies including Motorola and Cisco.
