Viola Networks adds senior management staff and expands by opening London office

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Viola Networks, a provider of VoIP performance management and deployment assessment software, today announced that four new, senior management executives have joined the company, and has opened a new office in London, England. The staff and company footprint expansions both reflect accelerated demand for Viola's lifecycle monitoring, assessment and troubleshooting products in the emerging VoIP and IP multimedia marketplace.

Viola's new executive appointments include: Todd Hussey, Vice President, North American Operations; Dave Zwicker, Vice President, Marketing; Eric Bear, Vice President, Product Management and Global Business Development; and Frank van der Poll, EMEA Business Manager. Viola's new London office will provide sales and marketing, as well as partnership and customer support, services to the EMEA market. This new local operation is the result of growth Viola is experiencing in the EMEA market, and is expected to strengthen the company's position as a dominant player in this space.

Mr. Hussey most recently served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, for IT service delivery management software provider Adlex Corp., where he successfully designed and implemented a worldwide sales strategy while leading and managing a team of 20 regional sales directors, systems engineers, inside sales and post sales support. Since 1984, he has held national level sales and account management positions for a wide range of enterprise and carrier product and service companies, including Silverback Technologies Inc., Concord Communications Inc., PictureTel Corp. (now Polycom) and Fujitsu Business Communications.

Mr. Zwicker also joins Viola Networks from Adlex Corp., where he established marketing operations and developed all new branding and promotional campaigns as vice president of marketing. His 24 years' industry experience also includes senior marketing posts with both emerging and established players in voice and data communications including 3Com Corp., Enterasys Networks, Indus River Networks and Racal Datacom Inc.

Mr. Bear joins Viola Networks with eighteen years in the telecommunications industry, nine years of it in direct VoIP management solution development, marketing and sales for Telogy Networks (acquired by Texas Instruments), Qovia, and Telchemy. He started his career as a network management software development engineer for GTE and later moved to MCI to implement the market's first global VSAT service. Eric has published numerous papers on VoIP management and is a frequent speaker at VoIP conferences.

Mr. van der Poll brings more than 20 years experience in sales management positions for suppliers of telecommunications and data communications hardware and software suppliers to Viola's new London EMEA offices. Most recently he served as an independent consultant for high tech companies including Lucent Technologies, Einstein and One2Connect. Previously, Mr. van der Poll served as Managing Director, Benelux, and Vice President, Europe, for Gandalf Technologies, a Canadian public data communication company.
