PORTLAND, Maine -- Verizon Wireless announced today it will introduce the nation's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Portland, and more than 20 additional communities throughout Maine, on Thursday, June 21.

Verizon Wireless customers with compatible 4G LTE smartphones, modems, tablets and mobile hotspots will be able to wirelessly share music and photos, surf the Web, and download files up to 10 times faster than customers on 3G networks.

"Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network will offer tremendous opportunity to Maine residents and businesses to better connect and innovate," said Christine Berberich, New England Region President for Verizon Wireless. "As New England's wireless leader, we continue to invest in and expand our 4G LTE coverage across the region and look forward to bringing these communities on board Thursday."
