SUWANEE, Ga. -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS), today announced that TV Cabo, Portugal’s largest Pay-TV operator, has selected the ARRIS C4 CMTS for its network upgrade.

“The ARRIS C4’s wire-speed was a determining factor in our CMTS selection to improve our network capacity,” said Joaquim Fernandes, CMTS Specialist at TV Cabo. “Its deployment will help us deliver a higher quality of digital services, such as voice over cable and ultra high-speed broadband, to our customers.”

“It has been a pleasure to work with TV Cabo to help them engineer their network for their VoIP rollout,” said Claudio Cerioli, ARRIS Senior VP of Sales. “The C4 CMTS’ wire-speed processing capabilities are important to reliably deliver VoIP packets. Additionally, its Quality of Service mechanisms offer TV Cabo the highest call quality and completion metrics in the industry and will provide TV Cabo with the head end platform they need to drive their VoIP rollout. We are delighted to again be at the forefront of pushing cable VoIP rollouts in Europe in association with such an innovative customer."
