PLANTATION, Fla. -- Transnet Wireless Corporation announces a deal with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that will provide Transnet Wireless Internet systems to park locations throughout the state, and make available e-mail and high-speed, wireless Internet access to campers and park-goers for a small fee. The deal furthers Transnet's presence in the government sector and highlights the skyrocketing and diverse need of wireless Internet service.

Utilizing Airpath's WiBOSS solution to manage customer provisioning, authentication and billing, Transnet Wireless is establishing a national network of Wi-Fi Hot Spots through an innovative private local distributorship program where the Hot Spot equipment is placed in locations at no cost to the location owner. The hardware, maintenance, and monthly Internet connection fees are all paid for by the local distributor, who profits from usage fees. A percentage of the revenues are also shared with the location. Transnet Wireless is also a member of the Airpath Provider Alliance.

"Transnet Wireless is now in a position to fulfill large corporate and government requests for Wi-Fi Hot Spot installation due to the steady growth of our distributor base, and the subsequent increase in our coverage capabilities," said Brad Cartwright, Transnet Wireless President. "The State of Illinois agreement serves to further entrench us in this sector."

The first Internet kiosk already has been installed in Pere Marquette State Park - one of Illinois' premier park and camping locations - which has comprehensive lodging accommodations and even conference facilities. Chris Hill, Systems and Licensing Manager for The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, said the Transnet installation will bring Illinois' parks to the forefront of technological advancement, and improve the park-going experience.
