PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Telcordia Technologies, Inc., a global provider of telecommunications software and services, is accelerating Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services in North America with the launch of a new hosted MVNO solution. With an eye on securing a leadership position in the emerging $4.6 billion MVNO market, Telcordia's newest offering will enable service providers to quickly and profitably offer high-quality, prepaid wireless services without having to own a network or manage network operations. Movida, a MVNO that recently announced its pre-paid services offering and will target the Hispanic population through a distribution relationship with Wal-Mart, is the first to deploy Telcordia's Hosted Solutions offering.

"Our new Hosted Solution will enable MVNOs to deploy and scale quickly, empowering them to capture market share by appealing to a defined target market and offering them the services they want in a reliable and profitable way."
This emerging MVNO trend allows new entrants to focus on delivering a targeted offering and superior customer service. It benefits traditional carriers by enabling them to maximize usage of existing network infrastructure without incurring the costs of marketing directly to niche market segments or undergoing the tedious task of changing current credit policies. It benefits consumers by supporting the launch of new wireless offerings designed to meet the customized needs and interests of specific target markets.
Telcordia's Hosted Solution offer features real-time call management, which helps eliminate fraud risk and facilitates a positive end customer experience. The deployment of the Telcordia Hosted Solution by Movida, dramatically reduced Movida's upfront capital investment in technical infrastructure and minimized their need to hire skilled telecom resources enabling the company to launch service in less than 120 days.
