Telcordia Technologies names Terry Vega head of new 'Mobility, Cable, and Emerging Markets' business unit

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- Communications software and solutions provider Telcordia Technologies, Inc. today announced that Teresa M. Vega has joined the company as corporate vice president and group president for Mobility, Cable and Emerging Markets. Vega brings more than 20 years of marketing and technical experience in executive positions with Lucent Technologies and Bell Laboratories. Most recently she was senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Lucent. She has extensive experience in wireless systems, having served as chief operating officer of Lucent's wireless infrastructure business responsible for AMPS, CDMA and TDMA systems. She was instrumental in the global product launch of Lucent's wireless digital network platforms, and has experience in the handset sector having been president of the Wireless Group in Lucent's joint venture with Philips. Subsequently, she was executive vice president for global business development, product marketing and market strategy for Lucent's Optical Networking business. "Terry's history of leadership in the wireless and optical businesses will be particularly valuable in leading our expansion into new markets," said Matt Desch, CEO, Telcordia Technologies. "She has great experience at creating and delivering solutions of high value to global customers. Telcordia has a lot to offer these markets, and Terry will direct our efforts with these new customers." Vega was with Bell Laboratories from 1976 to 1991 as a group supervisor and director where she headed a number of technical units in the Transmission Systems and Microelectronics divisions.
