COLUMBIA, Md. -- Tecore, a leading provider of multi-technology mobile networks for emerging operators and rapid deployments, today announced several major milestones to extend the company’s winning streak into 2007 and create momentum for 2008. The company also announced that it has formally changed its identity from TECORE Wireless Systems to Tecore Networks, reflecting the evolution of the company's capabilities to support a full spectrum of communications traffic on an IP core, as well as providing turnkey network solutions. Tecore’s senior management will showcase the company’s achievements, products and new identity at Mobile World Congress, Stand 8C78, Barcelona from February 11 to 14.

Tecore’s customer wins in 2007 demonstrated the value of its product portfolio to markets including new license networks, rural and remote operators, mobile virtual network operators and enablers (MVNOs/MVNEs), emergency communications and specialized mobile networks. Among these wins were multiple regional networks in the U.S. and internationally; several MVNOs; deployments of multi-protocol (GSM and CDMA) networks; the world’s first implementation of a rapid response tri-mode (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, CDMA and EV-DO) system including core and radio access elements in two transit cases; and a specialized network for a Tier 1 U.S. carrier.

During the year, Tecore was recognized for the Best Roaming Product or Service at the 3GSM Congress, for Over-the-Air Prepaid Roaming. This revolutionary, patent-pending software-defined feature facilitates prepaid access to subscribers homed in networks that do not have roaming agreements in place with the serving operator, enhancing the mobile subscriber experience while simultaneously providing the network operator with an incremental stream of revenue.

On the operational front, Tecore continued to demonstrate sound management with the successful integration and reorganization of the assets of AirNet Communications. The combined company fortified its leadership as a provider of all-IP, end-to-end mobile networks including core and radio access, and state-of-the-art professional services.

“Tecore continues a remarkable track record of technology innovation and business growth started in 1991,” said Jay Salkini, President and CEO. “I would like to thank our customers for their business, our peers for a premier industry award, and our employees for their dedication to the success of our company and our customers. In 2008, we anticipate accelerated adoption of our all-IP product portfolio, bridging networks from legacy TDM through next-generation IMS, and implementing an unprecedented any-to-any connectivity model from a common baseline.”
