SAN JOSE, Calif. & SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- Tahoe Networks, Inc., the emerging leader of network infrastructure at the Mobile Internet Edge (MIE) and Kabira Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for convergent network services, today announced a marketing and technology partnership that will enable GPRS, CDMA and UMTS operators to rapidly integrate new mobile data services into their existing operations. As a result of the partnership, mobile operators will be able to accelerate the launch of innovative and revenue-generating mobile data services that are essential for the success of next generation wireless networks. Unlike traditional IP infrastructure solutions that just provide connectivity, Kabira Technologies and Tahoe Networks' integrated solution will allow wireless operators to take full advantage of their IP network to deploy quality personalized data services while significantly improving time-to-market of service delivery. "One of the biggest challenges facing wireless operators will be to integrate their existing wireless network and enterprise systems to introduce Internet data services within their current networks. Wireless operators need a solution to integrate separate physical subscriber, services, networks and business systems for voice and data services," said Grover Righter, vice president of technical strategy, Kabira Technologies. In a separate release: SAN JOSE, Calif. & SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Tahoe Networks, Inc., the emerging leader of network infrastructure at the Mobile Internet Edge(TM) (MIE), today announced a marketing and technology partnership with XACCT Technologies, the leading network data management platform that allows global communications service providers to create a broad range of differentiated mobile data services. The partnership will help drive the business case for the next generation wireless network build out, by enabling the deployment of innovative pricing and billing mechanisms to monetize profitable, value-added mobile data services. With current accounting and billing practices for mobile data services being relatively immature, operators lack critical capabilities to monetize data traffic and create sustainable Mobile Internet business models. To address this challenge, Tahoe Networks and XACCT Technologies will integrate their pre- and post-paid capabilities to enable operators to implement flexible accounting and billing approaches. As part of this effort, Tahoe Networks will integrate with XACCT's Network-to-Business (N2B) platform. "The collaboration between XACCT and Tahoe Networks represents a natural and necessary evolution of IP services," said Limor Schweitzer, chief technology officer of XACCT Technologies. "Earlier generations of IP network equipment only allowed for, at best, the collection of basic IP flow information and offline reconstruction of subscriber specific traffic, prior to billing generation. Tahoe Networks' next generation IP conversation accounting will enable operators to develop innovative personalized data services as well as flexible pricing models at both, the user and application level."
