Suntech Manages Polish CDMA

WARSAW -- Polpager, SFERIA network operator, completed the implementation of an integrated management system (billing and OSS) by Suntech.

The following systems were implemented: billing and customer care system, interconnect system, fault management system, numbering inventory system and subscriber terminals warehouse.

SFERIA is Poland’s first and one of Europe’s first networks using CDMA radio-access. Currently SFERIA covers Warsaw. From June 2003, its area of operation will get systematically enlarged and will cover Warsaw suburbs. According to network coverage plans for 2004, the network will cover other regions in Poland. Use of the integrated information system is supposed to allow an efficient operation and to give advantage over the competitors.

“We needed a modern OSS system, an integrated solution which can be easily enlarged and which is able to develop hand in hand with our network and the services offered”, says El¿bieta Pamiêta, OSS department manager at SFERIA. “The software provided by Suntech has more than fulfilled our expectations. We managed to implement main business processes support in record time of 3 months.”

“It was thanks to the system’s flexibility and the involvement of the two firms in the project that we got such a good result. In fact, SFERIA compared to other telecommunications carriers has now one of the most modern systems”, says Piotr Saczuk, Suntech president.

“A great achievement of this implementation was the integration and the automation of processes in the firm’s different departments. The system allows fast subscriber activation, flexible billing and efficient recovery. We improved our internal communication and customer care”, says El¿bieta Pamiêta.
