CINCINNATI -- Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), a global leader in customer care, human resources, and billing services, announced today its Infinys(TM) Rating and Billing and Mediation software is now fully operational at Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), supporting SLT's customer base across all services. Colombo-based Sri Lanka Telecom is Sri Lanka's premier telecommunication services provider with more than one million business and residential subscribers, providing domestic and international voice, Internet, and data services.

The implementation of Infinys was the largest IT project ever undertaken by SLT. As a result of the implementation of Convergys software, Sri Lanka Telecom is realizing new revenues, enhanced customer service, and a reduction in operational support system costs while quickly launching new products and services. Infinys enables true convergence and real-time marketing innovation while lowering total cost of ownership and reducing risk for service providers.

"The increase in subscribers, integration between provisioning and billing, along with the convergent capabilities of Infinys Rating and Billing have resulted in significant increases in revenue for us," said Shuhei Anan, Chief Executive Officer of SLT. "In fact we are expecting to recoup our investment in Infinys within the first six months of operation."

"SLT is fast becoming the hub of communications for South Asia, in part, because of Infinys and the improved managed operational environment," said Convergys' Jean-Herve Jenn, President, International. "SLT's new BSS environment will enable faster speed to market for the next generation of services and the capacity for SLT to respond quickly and effectively to customer demands."
