Siemens ICN appoints Greg Langdon chief technology officer for carrier products, and Dennis Young as chief operating officer

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. (Siemens ICN), today announced the appointment of Greg Langdon as Chief Technology Officer for carrier products. In this position, Langdon will be responsible for ensuring that the company's technology direction and long term product strategy are focused on delivering the comprehensive solutions that carriers require to meet competitive pressures and to take full advantage of new applications and technologies. As CTO, Langdon will assist with strategic planning among the management, sales and marketing functions within Siemens ICN-U.S., and have direct interaction with customers, analysts and industry partners. "Greg served on the executive team for over five years at Efficient Networks, Inc. and was instrumental in making that company a leading global provider of broadband access solutions before its acquisition by Siemens," said Mark Floyd, president and CEO of Siemens ICN-U.S. "With Greg as part of the Siemens ICN-U.S. executive management team, I am confident that we can achieve our goal of becoming the number one provider of broadband infrastructure solutions for domestic carriers." In a separate release: BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. (Siemens ICN), today announced the appointment of Dennis Young as chief operating officer. As COO, Young will direct and manage the day-to-day operations of ICN-U.S. with manufacturing, supply chain management and carrier customer service and support operations reporting directly up through him. In addition, Young will work with sales operations, logistics, order fulfillment and forecasting processes to attain continuous improvements and efficiencies. "With his 16 years of management and operations experience, Dennis is an invaluable addition to our management team," said Mark Floyd, president and CEO of Siemens ICN-U.S. "His proven skills at improving profitability by optimizing operations and decreasing overhead costs are exactly what we need to succeed as we continue to garner increased market share in this country." Prior to this appointment, Young was executive vice president and general manager of ADC Telecommunications' DSL Division, where he had full profit and loss responsibility for three sites employing an estimated 1200 people.
