CHICAGO -- Shenick, a leading provider of network and application performance assurance test systems, today launched its new diversifEyeT 8400 at Supercomm (Metro Ethernet Forum SUPERDemo, booth #20736) offering true, quality of service (QoS) experience testing in a flexible and scalable multi-port test system. Service providers, equipment vendors and integrators in North America, Europe, Japan, Korea and Australia have already deployed Shenick diversifEye.

IP oriented network service providers are introducing new business class broadband services such as Metro Ethernet and an array of delay sensitive applications such as Multicast Video, VoIP and subscription based streaming media services that coexist with existing response time sensitive web applications. Therefore, there is an increased demand for integrated network and application (layer 2-7) end-to-end QoS test systems with the ability to scale within a multi-port test environment.

The new diversifEyeT 8400 complements the existing diversifEye 4200 2U portable test chassis by offering increased port density and scalability for applications requiring higher port count in a single chassis. The 8400 and 4200 offer the convenience of shared key components such as swappable, field replaceable test port modules and system software. Client installation takes just two minutes and the typical initial training period is a few hours from install to running first tests. The 8400 test chassis measures 4U in height and can also be easily mounted within a standard 19" rack. To add further scalability, multiple 8400's can be easily daisy chained together. With a choice of test interfaces including Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet combined with additional field replaceable components such as fan and power supplies in a robust test chassis, the diversifEye 8400 is ideal for lab and in-network based test applications.

Shenick's chief marketing officer, Robert Winters said, "We have responded to the demands of our customers by introducing the 8400 as a scalable test solution that architecturally couples with our existing 4200 portable test unit. Shenick is addressing market demand for both portable and highly scalable test solutions along with integrated network and application layer testing offering a truly unique QoS experience test system."
