LOS ANGELES -- The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today proudly announced the 2008 recipients of its three prestigious SCTE Emerging Technologies Awards.

They are Greg Griffis of Cox Communications Atlanta, who received the IP Innovator Award, sponsored by Juniper Networks; Charlie D. Elliott of Rogers Cable Communications in Brampton, Ontario, who received the Polaris Award, sponsored by CommScope; and Esteban Sandino of Comcast Cable Communications in Englewood, Colo., who received the Star of Integrity Award, sponsored by ARRIS (formerly C-COR).

SCTE honored each of these distinguished gentlemen during its Emerging Technologies Awards Luncheon conducted this afternoon as part of SCTE Conference on Emerging Technologies® (ET) 2008. The annual forward-thinking conference, which focuses its attendees’ attention three-to-five years into the technical future of cable telecommunications, began Monday and continues through Wednesday at the beautiful Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in downtown Los Angeles. The 2008 Emerging Technologies Awards were made possible by the efforts of CED magazine, SCTE, and the award sponsors.
