Siemens ICN wins a contract to provide the SURPASS Business Connection solution for SBC's PremierServ hosted IP service

MUNICH -- Siemens Information and Communication Networks (ICN) has signed a five yearcontract with SBC Services for its SURPASS Business Connection solution asthe next-generation delivery platform for the recently announced SBCPremierServ Hosted IP Communication Service. Surpass Business Connectionbrings customers advanced IP-enabled (Internet Protocol) communicationssolutions. For the enterprise customers of SBC, one of the world's leading voice,data and internet service providers, this means creating a seamless environmentwhere enterprise users can gain consistent access to productivity-boostingapplications spanning home or work locations and across broad geographies.
The Siemens Surpass Business Connection solution is designed to give SBC'sbusiness customers greater control and flexibility in customizing and managing theircommunications needs. For example, it allows multimedia communications, multipartycollaboration, unified voice-to-text and text-to-voice messaging, as well as click-to-dial,call management, and integration with Microsoft Outlook and other multimediaapplications. It will enable businesses of all sizes to connect calling groups spanninglarge geographic distances. Dispersed enterprises can create virtual groupings of fixedand mobile employees, or remote teleworkers, each with seamless and consistentaccess to the same information, applications, and services. The Siemens solutionincludes the Surpass Softswitch, Sylantro’s feature server and elements provided byother major name providers in the industry.
