VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Rogers Communications, Canada's 2nd largest cable operator, has selected ClearAccess to provide TR-069 remote management and applications for a variety of broadband devices including its DOCSIS 2.0 & 3.0 gateways. Rogers will deploy ClearVision as part of a national rollout of managed home networking services, and will use the platform to offer cloud-based applications for its customers in the near future.
The ClearVision platform provides a suite of help desk tools, as well as a web-based subscriber portal that collectively lowers the support burden of managed home networking, including simple configuration of WiFi and firewall features. Rogers also plans to take advantage of the revenue-generating applications ClearAccess provides, and is specifically planning to launch whole-home parental controls later this year.
"Rogers is a globally recognized innovation leader, our decision to partner with ClearAccess will help to further substantiates this view," said Nikos Katinakas, VP of Technology and Strategy Development at Rogers Communications. "ClearAccess is helping us to enhance the customer experience for our broadband subscribers by enabling a new set of cloud-based home network management tools and services, accessible by both our Customer Support Representatives as well as our customers."
ClearAccess is also licensing its Powered by ClearAccess device software to Rogers' preferred hardware vendors enabling advanced TR-069 manageability along with a new portfolio of revenue generating services. This approach simplifies interoperability and accelerates the deployability of devices such as DOCSIS cable gateways, Ethernet gateways, 3G/4G gateways, VoIP ATAs, IP Set-top boxes, Network Attached Storage (NAS), IP cameras, and more.
"We are pleased that Rogers has selected ClearAccess to be a key part of their connected home strategy," said Joel Pennington, Senior Director of Business Development at ClearAccess. "Global service providers are rapidly deploying ClearVision to enhance the customer experience while lowering operational expenses."
