Riverstone Networks multiservice metro router receives CableLabs' Docsis 1.1 qualification

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Riverstone Networks Inc. (Nasdaq:RSTN), a pioneer in metropolitan area networking, announced today that its industry-leading metro router, the RS 8600 has received the DOCSIS(TM) 1.1 (Data over Cable Service Interface Specification) CableLabs(R) qualification as a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) solution. The new certification follows DOCSIS 1.0 and Euro DOCSIS 1.0 certification, making the Riverstone RS product family one of the industry's leading solutions. Cable operators now have the unique ability to deliver advanced services by combining DOCSIS 1.1 with industry-leading MPLS, packet ring, routing and legacy WAN interfaces in a single high-performance chassis.
