Radionet adds international experience to its board of directors; Angela Champness, former head of Proxim's LAn division, joins as chairwoman

ESPOO, Finland -- Leading supplier of Wi-Fi Hotzone solutions Radionet today announced that it is strengthening its Board of Directors with top international names from the wireless industry.Former head of Proxim's LAN division and Agere's ORiNOCO Division, Angela Champness, will serve as the Chairman of the Board, and other new inductees include former 3Com VP of European Channel Business Thomas Smitt, former VP of EMEA Sales at Nokia Networks Timo Kotilainen, and CEO of FöretagsByggarna Lars Lindgren. President of Concordia Capital Ulf Rosenlöf continues on the Board. The new board will help Radionet extend its success from the Nordic countries to the European market and build a channel of European VAR (Value Added Reseller), SI (SystemIntegrator) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners.

The new Chairman of the Board Angela Champness has been one of the key contributors to the Wi-Fi revolution from the beginning. Throughout her 14-year career in Wi-Fi, she has been instrumental in helping the Wi-Fi industry to develop and grow through top management positions in Proxim, Agere and Lucent Technologies. Ms. Champness was also one of the founders of the Wi-Fi Alliance.

In addition to Ms. Champness, Radionet's new board will feature prominent names from the WLAN, Networking and Telecommunication industries.

  • Thomas Smitt has over 25 years of international experience inthe ICT-sector including executive positions at Burroughs, Lotus Development and 3Com Corporation, including VP of European Channel Business at 3Com.

  • Timo Kotilainen has extensive experience from telecommunicationsindustry and has held positions at Sales Management, Nokia Networks since 1993. His last position at Nokia Networks was Vice President, EMEA Sales.

  • Lars Lindgren, founding partner and CEO of the venture capitalfirm FöretagsByggarna, founded the Swedish Venture Capital Association in 1985 and served later as the association's Chairman.

  • Ulf Rosenlöf, president of Concordia Capital, has held topmanagement positions with companies such as Huhtamäki and Tamro. He was also the former Chairman for Radionet and continues to serve on the board.
