WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Quarry Technologies, an innovative supplier of IP service edge solutions, today announced more architecture details, specifically, support for Optical-speed Encrypted Traffic Engineering. An industry breakthrough, this landmark new technology enables network operators to offer on-demand, custom IP (Internet Protocol) services to business customers without compromisi ng performance, security or control, and without deploying expensive, difficult-to-manage customer premises equipment (CPE).

"The ability of an edge router to support Triple DES encryption with QoS at wire speeds enables IP service providers to offer a whole new level of security and performance to their subscribers. It can provide enterprise customers with the level of security in communications across the Internet that they have today in their private Frame Relay or leased line networks. This opens up significant new market opportunities for these IP service providers," said Bob Larribeau, Director of Edge Switching and Routing at RHK, Inc., a leading telecommunications industry analysis firm based in South San Francisco, California.
