Total funding for optical access startup reaches $124 million

Quantum Bridge Communications, Inc., a leading developer of optical access networking solutions, today announced the completion of a $102 million third round investment led by Texas Pacific Group (TPG). The round brings the company's total funding to more than $124 million since its incorporation in October 1998.
In addition to TPG, other new investors in this strategic round include BCI Partners Inc., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Private Equity, Comcast Interactive Capital, KMC Investment Partners, Pequot Capital Management Inc., J. P. Morgan Capital Corporation, First Union Capital Partners, Dain Rauscher Wessels, and an affiliate of FleetBoston Financial. Existing investors who also participated in this round include New Enterprise Associates, Lazard Technology Partners and Atlas Venture.
